Copper Rose
-
First photographed Oct 2015.
-
I began with just the outline drawn with the open leaf coming back on itself.
-
and the thought that they would have contrasting layers.
-
I especially wanted the red of the natural copper (heated to just the right temperature).
-
Any polishing following completion risks removing this beautiful patina.
-
I had only a mental visualisation of how the hooks would be attached
-
and the layers held together.
-
I think they turned out well, though I would ensure the stems are the same...
-
were I to remake them. They took me a day to develop and make.
-
When they were completed, I remember thinking...
-
"Yes, I can...
-
...Do this."
